02:08:00 12 December 2009

Its been such a long time since I last blogged that I totally feel so out of touch from typing.
Lotsa happening lately but I am just unsure where to start. I feel that it is really outdated.

Schools out and I have been attending lots of workshops and courses. I dont even have time to decorate my classroom yet. But Ill definitely post up pictures of my new re-vamped class when Im done.

So here we go....

  • 1st December - Teacher's Day (it was postponed from the original date as there was H1N1)High Tea @ Carousel.

The food was delicious and a wide range of them that will probably never fail to please anyone's tastebuds.

  • After the high-tea,I headed down to Pasir Ris Beach to meet my Sec School Girlfriends. It was a bridal shower for Syiq and Birthday Surprise for Izzah.

Its been such a long time since I last met them. The night was filled with laughter, jokes, reminiscense and updates of our current life.

*I didnt take much pictures for this day as my batt was going flat.*

  • 2nd December - Learning Journey to the Zoo.

This outing was one of the best that I ever had. In the morning, we were greeted by a small talk by one of the senior staff who told us facts about the Zoo that we were not aware of. Such as who started the zoo, how it all started, how they sustained themselves including the staff development at the zoo and transportation and exchanging of animals.

After that, we had a Zoo-mazing Race whereby we are divided into groups of 10/11. There were 4 groups altogether and we were suppose to go around the zoo in order to complete the tasks. We had to complete the flying fox at the Children's World(which cost the zoo $11million. Wow Rite?), had to feed the hamadrayas baboons( yes, it is not allowed to feed the animals, but we were able to as we were playing the game and it was specifically so as it was their feeding time), drink like a giraffe from a straw( which meant we had to open our legs wide and bend down. Just like a giraffe. 4 of us,including me, had to drink two cups as our team members couldn't do so). Lastly, we had to go to the Tropical Crops to plan a full meal from the fruits and vegetables found there.

After that, we had lunch and then were divided into 2 big groups. One went to the Behind-the-Scene of the Reptile *forgot what word*, while my group went to Behind-the-Scene of the Fragile Forest. We saw lots of butterflies, their life cycles and their special breeding area. We saw tarantulas, stick insects, american cockroaches etc. We learnt so much facts that I was geared up to tell my upcoming K2 children about them. We then had our Boat Ride.

The total amount spent for this outing is $100 per pax. The school basically paid about $4k ++.

  • 3rd December- Girls Nite-out @ Vintage Cafe, 66 Bussorah Street.
Who were there? Baya, Dinah, Rye, Noor, Cass, ME!!

We met up after work and headed down to the restaurant. B searched for a nice eating place and she found it. We were all not disapointed as the food was great, the ambience cosy. Even the toilet was cosy!!Yes, that came from Dinah who rarely used toilets outside home.

It is a family-based business. The waiter was the son and the chef was his mom. Faris, the waiter, was chatty and had superb customer skill. We ended up making friends with him and shaking hands with the mom coz we were the last customers there. Cool kan... all the pics will be found in our multiply.
  • 5th December- Something huge happened which I shall keep under wraps for the time being =) =) =)

  • 9th December - My family lost yet another man that we loved.

Ayah Besar, Aqilah's father, who had suffered from Cancer for about 4 years. He was already in his worst condition and breathed his last on that day. We will all missed him greatly. He never fails to light up any event, any room with his loud voice and non-stop jokes.

*Semoga Ayah Besar ditempatkan dengan orang-orang yang beriman. Amin*

I shall stop here. I have work to do and will be meeting Darlz later. Missing him badly.
=)
